“Heartbroken”: The Political World Reacts
Rob Reiner was not just a Hollywood figure; he was a political force. Former President Barack Obama led the tributes, posting a heartfelt statement on X:
“Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people.”
Vice President Kamala Harris also weighed in, calling the Reiners her “dear friends” and highlighting their tireless activism.

Kathy Bates, who won an Oscar for her terrifying role in Reiner’s Misery, was devastated. “I loved Rob. He was brilliant and kind… He changed the course of my life,” she said in a statement.
