Dennis Schröder’s Ambush on Luka Dončić

NBA Chaos Hits Boiling Point – Dennis Schröder fighting

  • The Suspension: Dennis Schröder has been slapped with a three-game suspension for a postgame hallway confrontation with Mavericks star Luka Dončić—not Nikola Jokić.
  • The “Ambush”: Schröder allegedly waited 40 minutes after the Dec. 28 game to track down Dončić in a tunnel at Crypto.com Arena, leading to an attempted physical attack.

Real Talk on Tunnel Toughness

If you thought the drama stayed on the court, you haven’t been paying attention to the NBA’s 2026 season. We’ve got veteran guards waiting in tunnels for 40 minutes like it’s a high school parking lot beef. Dennis Schröder apparently took the “meet me in the back” energy a little too literally, and now he’s sitting out three games for a postgame “ambush” that security had to break up.

Schröder Suspended: Why the Trend is Spiking Today

The name Dennis Schröder is dominating news cycles because the NBA officially handed down a three-game suspension today, January 11, 2026. While initial rumors were messy, the facts are in: Schröder was suspended for “confronting and attempting to strike” Luka Dončić.

The beef stems from a Dec. 28 Lakers win over the Kings. Dončić spent the game trolling Schröder about turning down a massive $84 million extension with the Lakers years ago, famously telling him, “Should’ve signed that contract, baby”. Schröder didn’t find the financial advice funny. He reportedly sought Luka out in the tunnel nearly an hour after the buzzer, telling him his comments wouldn’t fly off the court before lunging at him.
